TOUR BLOG #1: CHICAGO

"Bet your bottom dollar you lose the blues in Chicago!"

---Frank Sinatra---

Maybe you lose the blues but holy shit, you gain the sweat!! It's crazy hot here in Chicago! I'm just happy to be sitting here in the AC in this Starbucks with my cold iced tea and to be out of that RV right now! We have a little time to sight-see before the show tonight, so I'd like to at least see the Sears Tower. I like city views. But right now it feels good to regulate my inner body temperature back to normal. Does Chicago ever have nice weather? I've heard what winter can be like here.

Other than excruciating heat, my first impression of Chicago is a positive one. I love big cities and big buildings and the bustle of people. Its a life-force in and of itself. I'm looking forward to playing some rock n' roll tonight at the Excalibur, but right now I'm just happy someone invented air conditioning. And black iced tea lemonade with one and a half pumps of sweetener. Thats all I need, hehe :) I'll write back tomorrow with a recap of tonight's show.

(somewhere in middle America, Nikita live from the RV 7/13)

Hello.
This is Nikita La Tijera live from the RV.
We are enroute to Chicago.
We are between Flagstaff and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

So I packed all night sun and only got 4 hours of sleep then went to work mon.
I was super tired but stoked.

After work, we left my car where the RV lives in Redondo and headed out in the RV. We stopped at my house so I could make sure I didn't forget anything then picked up Paloma and Julie at palomas house.

I stayed up all night and have been sleeping all day in the RV.

We just ate some lunch ( hummus, grapes and chips and salsa)

And all of a sudden we smelled smoke!
The spare tire fell off and went under the trailer!

It knocked off the propane tank!

Alan (our RV driver) says he can fix it.
Jonny was driving when it happened.
He said we bounced a little hard and boom!

There was smoke and sparks and everything!

Now if we did get a flat, we have no spare. But hopefully. That won't be the case.

Live from New Mexico.

This is Kitty, from the road.

(Jonny Kat is excited)

(All is quiet on the Wednesday front - Julie)

I've been writing and blogging a lot lately. I can't wait to go on tour and keep a tour blog. HKK will be going on tour from July 12th to July 25th. That's getting close! My only rule is that Johnny has to shower at least every two days. Every other day is preferable, but no less than 48 hours may pass without a shower. That's reasonable, right? I think so. I'm not worried about the girls because I think females in general are more aware of their BO, but I toured one time for 10 days with three other guys who refused to shower, and I'm not going through that again if I can help it. But enough about BO; HKK will be going through Chicago, Michigan, Wichita and Oklahoma City (where the wind comes sweeping down the plains). I hope I can find that one truck stop in Iowa where they baked apple pie on the premises and it was the most amazing pie ever. Actually, any truck stop anywhere with home-made apple pie will do. I guess that's something Kerouac and I have in common, but that's about it. Maybe I'll read passages from "On the Road" to my other bandmates and we'll become inspired. Maybe I'll stop blogging and go to bed soon, too, hehe

One quick note of gracious thanks: To all of you who came out to The Good Hurt Monday, thank you for contributing to the LA Mission and for supporting our cause. We had a good time and raised a little money for people who really need it. I don't know when our next LA show is - probably sometime in August after we get back from tour. But if you're really in need of an HKK fix, we will play in your backyard but you have to feed us and I personally need chocolate chip cookies (its in my stage ryder :)

"one band army' pilot taping 6/21

Hi.
Please let me take a minute of your time
so I can tell u about
"one band army"

and why its important.

There is a back story.
but I won't start there.
I'll start with, that we are doing a
tv pilot, and its called, "one band army"

its about a band that cares enough to make a difference in the world
starting with itself.

We have taped 2 versions already with past band members,
both to support the Eagles Lodge in Redondo Beach.
They are a non profit organization who have 8 charities
that they give money to.. such as
the Jimmy Durante childrens fund, the Max Baer heart fund,
lung cancer research and diabetes.

we raised about 500$ for them.

but we never managed to finish editing the show
though we still have the footage,
and we changed band members twice since.

This show, taping 6/16 and 6/21
we are teaming up with Gary Garver
formerly of the Howard Stern Show and
presently Exscape.tv filming.

We have all proceeds going to support the LA Mission
to feed Los Angeles' homeless.

AND we are cosponsoring the event with
the lovely and talented
Emilee Wilson from Rock n Pole
Medicinal Mondays at
Good Hurt nightclub on Venice blvd
in West LA.

AND

Evolve Revolution Dance studios.
If you are not familiar with Evolve you need
to get familiar with Evolve.

Owner Lani Henderson is amazing in so many ways.
But most importantly..
she gives light, self esteem and self fullfillment and enrichment
to the lovely ladies who enter the dance studio.

She is a beacon of light and a role model to young women everywhere
that If you have a dream and believe in yourself
you can move mountains and achieve all that u seek.

The Evolve dancers will also be showcasing their stuff Monday night.
Truly Ballerinas and the best in the world at their craft,
Mina, Josiah "Bad Azz", Traci, Andrea, Anjel and Peppa~
will not dissapoint.

Evolve will also be raffling off a few dance classes to some lucky Raffle winner.

And here is the beginning of how u can help.

We are doing a canned food drive for the LA Mission.
We are interviewing Herb Smith of the LA Mission tomorrow.
About things like how he came to be there, how many men and women he feeds daily,
monthly, yearly and talking to some of the people on Skid Row.

We will then be giving all of the canned food and the proceeds from the raffle
to the LA Mission.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU!

*show up monday night 6/21 to Good Hurt (doors 9p)
*bring as much canned food as u possibly can
*bring prizes to be raffled off.
it can be anything! Please just new and in good shape.
business ideas: free lunch with purchase of lunch, free entree, free soda, a t shirt, a hat, a gift certificate... there is no prize too small nor prize too big.

People will buy 1 raffle ticket per 1 $. The more prizes to raffle.
The more $ we raise for the LA Mission to feed the homeless in our community.

We need people to support our event.
We need canned food.
We need raffle prizes.

Please help us support the LA Mission.
Please lets make a shout out on Monday night and have our voices be heard
loud and clear

that we do care about our community.

Whatever u have to give.
nothing is too small.

We only all have each other.

Michael Jackson will forever be a legend.

His words,

I'm starting with the man in the mirror..
I'm asking him to make a change.

look at your own relection.
how can u help your fellow man?

Please. help us make a difference Monday night.

Please donate a prize, some canned food and your time.

Hear Kitty Kitty will be performing at 10pm.

We have been a signed band now for approximately 2 weeks.

We are so proud to be part of the EFM records family.

Come help us celebrate our new record deal, celebrate each other
and celebrate that we can all make a difference in our world for people who
need our help.

if we just try.

Please pass this email to everyone and anyone that might want to be part of our event Monday pm.

This event will be filmed. We aim to make "one band army" a way of life.
Not just for the LA Mission but to benefit people, places and organizations in need, everywhere.

I am a champion of change.

I believe. yes i can.

Join me monday pm.
Help me begin to make "one band army"
all that it can be.

Not just tough, army tough.

Its true we'll make a better day.

just u n me:)

(Michael Jackson, thank u n RIP:)

( HKK is in the studio this week! - Paloma 6/9/10)

Helllooo!!! How freakin' exciting! Something I have always dreamed of was being in a signed band! But being in a signed band that I love and believe in is something quite different! EFM Records baby! We absolutely killed it on stage at The House of Blues and we all had a feeling that nothing but good would come out of it! Yet, none of us knew that we would be a signed band to the raddest label ever in less than a month!!!!! Wow!
Today was our first day working with our producer Dito today and I don't think we could have found anyone better to work with! He has made this journey nothing but fun and exciting! I can't wait to see what we have in store for us now! We are going into the studio this week from Tuesday till Thursday! Recording is one of my favorite things in the world, so I am super excited!

( Bikini Girls SANS Machine Guns - Julie 6/7/10)

So last Wednesday night HKK played this place on La Brea and Sunset called Crazy Girls. Crazy Girls is a bikini bar. Before I moved to LA, I've never heard of this concept of "bikini bar." Its like a regular strip club except the girls are in bikinis the whole time, but they operate in pretty much the same manner. My cousin was trying to explain that there are liquor laws involved and that's why they can't be nude, but I'm not sure if this is just an LA thing, a California thing, a nation-wide thing - strip clubs are not places I frequent on a regular basis. And I've certainly never performed at one.

In honor of the night, I though I might don these 8,000 inch tall stripper heels Kitty lent me. I put them on at home so I might walk around and get some practice, and two minutes later, the front strap on one of them breaks and I nearly twist my ankle. I take this to be an omen that I should NOT wear these shoes. Like, ever. So then I begin to consider how pointless it might be to dress sexy at a bikini bar in the first place, seeing as how guys are coming to throw dollars at half-naked women to rub their asses in their face and they're not necessarily there to watch a rock band, no matter how cute we might look. I start thinking I might get more attention if I dressed like a nun or a Mennonite. But its hard to find a nun suit (are they called nun suits? I hope so) in June as opposed to say, October. And its not like I can run down to Mennonites Plus and buy those little headcaps. So shoes or no shoes, bikinis or no bikinis, we have to do the best we can.

Lucky for us we have two amazing hair/makeup artists, Nicole and Danielle, on board for shows like these. Ironically they couldn't even get into Crazy Girls because they aren't 21, but damn, did they make us look good. Good enough to even drive attention away at times from the bikini Amazons. Thanks, ladies. My boyfriend thanks you too :)

Now I've played some weird shows. Once I had a troop of bellydancers open for me. Another time my friend showed up in a cow suit and got onstage with me and danced and blew bubbles. But I can honestly say I have never played a show where I got stuck behind a stripper pole. Which I did. My cable at one point somehow got wrapped around the pole, but I couldn't walk around to unwrap it because of the bikini girl in my way. I should also mention the seizure-iffic light show that the lighting guy swore up and down he couldn't shut off. Hope he has 911 on speed dial, or at least training in dealing with epileptics. It was one of the strangest nights indeed.

Hopefully this coming week when HKK records our upcoming singles for EFM Universal (our new label!), there will be no obstructing stripper poles in the studio. I hear there's a dog, and even a jacuzzi, so I can't say there won't be any bikinis :)

(my new friend, alfred hitchcock. kitty blog 5/27/10)

My new friend, Alfred Hitchcock
Everytime, or almost every time,
I get off the off ramp at Western and the 10..
there is an older black gentleman there.
He has a shopping cart and some things
and he offers to wash your windows.
He looks world weary and wise.
He also looks somewhat beatdown by life.
But he never looks like he's giving up.
He looks genuine.
For whatever you can tell about a man on a street corner
that meets an off ramp.
I always try to give him something if I have it.
I don't have much.
A water bottle, a banana, a dollar..some change..
He always offers to wash my windows..
whether I have anything to give that day or not.
One night, I got off the off ramp and there was a motorcycle
that I thought was following me.
It probably wasn't..but it was late
and I felt a little scared of the motorcycle.
I had nothing to give..but I looked at the elderly black man
and he looked at me..
and then at the motorcycle..
and I felt like he knew I was scared.
And if something happened..
he would have had my back.
And in my head.. he has been my friend ever since.
Tonight I got off the off ramp and there he was.
I had not much to give and he wasn't looking
so I kept driving, but as I turned the corner and drove north..
I noticed his leg was all bandaged up from his ankle to his knee
in white gauze.. and I was worried about him.
What happened? Did somebody hurt him?
was he ok?
Jonny has a cold and is home sick, miserable.
but what if u don't have a home...
how much more bad must it be if u don't have a place
that u call home?
So. I pulled over and turned around and drove about 6 blocks back.
I pulled up and waved and honked at him and drove to the first
available place to pull over.
I felt a little scared, I'm trying to start a conversation with this man
at the offramp at midnite.. but not scared enough to not talk to him.
I asked him what happened to his leg and he told me he got bit by a spider.
I got bit by a spider recently.
I still have a scar on my farhead.
he told me it was real bad and he said he was in the hospital.
:( I asked him his name.
He said it was Alfred.
Like Alfred Hitchcock.
He told me when he was a boy in school everyone called him Alfred Hitchcock.
He asked me how old I was and he told me he was 52.
I asked him what he did all day.
He told me, I wash windows.
I gave him 1.24 and a bottle of water.
I told him I would pray for him.
I told him I would try to always have something for him whenever I could.
I told him to take care and that he was my friend.
I drove away waving bye and wished I had more to give.
If u are ever at Western and the 10 offramp.
Please say hi to Alfred. Maybe let him wash your windows.
I'd like to build the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees and snow-white turtle doves
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to hold it in my arms and keep it company
I'd like to see the world for once
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills "Ah, peace throughout the land"
now i lay me down to sleep
i pray the lord my soul to keep
and if i die b4 i wake
i pray the lord my soul to take
Dear God, please look out for Alfred. Please make sure his leg gets better.
Please make sure he gets food and water and shelter
and some windows to wash and maybe some friends to talk too.
all we have is each other.
kumbaya. one love.
peace to all. and to all. good night

(You can help! - Julie 5/14)

Hi guys. I could talk about how amazing our House of Blues show was Monday the 10th and how humbled I am that so many of you came out to support us and told us how great we sounded and how great we looked and how we worked so so hard for that show and we are all so stoked about the results. But if you were there Monday night, you already know all of this and if you weren't there Monday night you can come experience the magic again June 2nd at Crazy Girls on La Brea and Sunset (at least if you live in the LA area). But I don't want to talk about that right now. I want to talk about Kansas. It appears that we will be trekking out to Wichita to play the Midwest Rock Fest July 22nd (Iron Maiden will be there, too!), so that kind of puts touring on our brains and I thought : I wonder if anyone reading this blog will have any suggestions as to where else we could tour to, either on the way to/from Kansas, or later on in the year...Hear Kitty Kitty fans, where you at? Where would you like to see us if you can't make it to LA to see us? What venues do you think we would rock? What towns/colleges/friend's basements do you think we should aim for? I bet we can make that happen. Hear Kitty Kitty: Coming soon to a town near you!

Julie

(Hard work really does pay off - H.O.B. May 10th - Paloma)

HKK is ready to role!!! I have always dreamed of playing on a big stage in front of lots of people! I have achieved that goal in the past, but I am dying for more! After playing almost every single club in LA, we are finally movin' on up! House of Blues! I am oh so very excited about it! I sure hope that everyone and everyone's friends can come out and support us! It's on May 10th! The sound there is always flawless and the vibe is great! The drum riser is pretty rad too, so hopefully I'll be able to play on it!
As for more Paloma news... I have been practicing my butt off for all of our exciting new opportunities! I am so grateful to be a part of such a hard working band with great perseverance and determination!

(Interior Design, Kat Klass, Kat Style - Jonny Kat 4/5/10)

What's up my furry friends! Jonny Kat here sharin hissssterical times in the lives of HKK! We all went to the garment district recently to purchase drapes for our new lockout rehearsal studio. Paloma wanted burgundy drapes.....with skulls and crossbones.........Kitty wanted bright red ones........Julie wanted purple ones.......see through purple ones........Yours truly wanted Kitty Litter on the floor! Just in case the room looked like shit when we were done! Well I'm proud to say we've come to a beautiful compromise. Tune in next week for photos of our amazing lair!!!!

(A week in the life... Julie 4/5/10)

I dunno - Monday through Thursday are kind of a blur. I think Passover happened and there were family gatherings and me consuming waaayyy too much food.

Friday I almost cut my thumb off by accident. I went to the emergency room and the nurse looked at my insurance policy and asked me "Soooo...how bad IS that cut?" It's fine now. Like nothing ever happened. My role as bass player isn't jeopardized by my lack of dishwashing and knife handling skills.

Saturday we all took a band trip to the Garment District (or is it called the Fashion District in LA? In NYC I know its the Garment District because a long long time ago my great-grandfather worked there). Anyway, we took a trip to buy some fabric to hang up in our rehearsal space to try and make it look more attractive. Girls do these things, y;know. After much deciding, vendor-haggling, and consumption of sexy fruit, we are much closer to making the space look like our second home, When you play in a band, your rehearsal space is pretty much your second home, like it or not. I also ate Del Taco for the first time in my life. I also was shown the gigundo black widow that lives near the entrance to our rehearsal space. I named it Mortimer. Yeah, I know he could potentially kill me, but I think Mortimer is pretty bad-ass looking. And we did what Kitties do best; we played music! Then I felt poopy and I came home and drank some Thera-Flu. I drank Thera-Flu for the first time in my life. A lot of firsts this weekend, I guess.

Happy Easter - hope there is some good candy sliding down your gullet right now :)

(Philosophical Musings con Tequilas 3/31, Nikita)

today is the first day of the rest of your life.

we should definitely make sure we have some tequila

(New Kitty Blog 3/27, Nikita)

This week, we saw "The Runaways" as a band field trip.
Previously, I wrote 26 songs with Kim Fowley
of which "Summer Waves" and "Til the Moon.."
are 2 of.

He used to say, " I was the love child of Joan Jett and Nikki Sixx"
Joan Jett has always been one of my idols and I was totally influenced musically by Motley Crue
and we are working with Mark Hyman who is booking us now thru Ashley Talent and
who also books my hero, Joan Jett, thru Paradise.

paloma didnt go.
so it was just the 3 of us.

I went to this movie, for myself,
thinking of it as music history 101.
Asking the question:
where do they come from...
the people u look up to.

what is their story?

i thought:
they did a great job with the movie.
i think they depicted kim correctly.
i think he is as smart as he thinks he is.

i think theres a lesson in being tough and not being wussy and having balls n street cred.
he's good at that niche market. he's a genious and a madman.
u can think he's over the top but he makes no bones about being himself.

if we were all to pick who we are:
paloma would be sandy west cus shes a drummer,
julie guesses she would be lita ford.

jonny says he has to be kim cus he is the dirty old man; ) with the 3 fine ladies!!
which means i'm the bad ass black cat rhythm guitarist like joan as well as the sexy lead singer like cherie.
so i'm pullin double duty. but i can take it;)
kinda who u wanna be when u grow up.
somewhere between working with Gina Schock of the GoGo's and Kim Fowley of the Runaways
I hope to find all that will be hear kitty kitty n me.

Tonight we went to the Cherie Currie book signing at Vroman's in Pasadena.
Jonny, myself and a friend of ours from Germany named, Jogi.
Cherie was really nice and very well spoken.
I really enjoyed listening to the woman inside of the legend who is Cherie Curie.
Our next show is Skinnie's 4/6.

will u b there?

(No Integrity 3/12, Nikita)

Once upon a time, my friend Joel Gausten asked Hear Kitty Kitty to do a song for the Betty Blowtorch tribute CD...in tribute to Bianca Halstead and to my boyfriend Roxy (R.I.P) previously of the Undead. I have spent a long time trying to come up with a version I thought was good enough..cause it meant soo very much to me.
I also wanted to record it with "thee lineup" of Hear Kitty Kitty.

We are so excited to finally give u a version we feel is worthy of the cause.
We hope u enjoy it.

(Update from Nikita 3/4/10)

hi!! what up?!
well! we just shot this super rad photo set with greg garcia friday.
i have 2 more shoots coming up, but this was now our 2nd

anyway.
we also just moved out of our hollywood n vine room n got a
new lock out in the valley.
if u know me. u know i hate the valley.
it just seems far. out of the way.

i do know there are redeeming characteristics to the valley
i just do not in general.
like the valley.

i think after u live at the beach u super duper don't like the valley.
its too hot in the summer.

HKK has been very busy through Feb.... and exciting times ahead in March...

(New Posts from Julie and Nikita for end of Feb)

NEW ADVENTURES IN KITTYLAND

Hi everyone! Julie Bass here. Here are some of the adventures Hear Kitty Kitty's been having lately:

1. Photoshoots: This past Friday HKK went to Jay's house in Torrance and shot a whole bunch of promos for Jackson Guitars and Pickworld (two of our proud endorsers). Beer, vintage cars, carne asada, a pit bull named Bronco=awesome. Thanks to Greg Garcia for his photography skills, Jay for letting us overrun his home with clothes and glitter, and to Danielle for hair and makeup and said glitter. Photos to be posted soon.

2. Gigs: We've spent most every weekend in February playing music somewhere in the LA area, but we've got a really really super important gig at The Cat Club in Hollywood on March 12th. If you can make it, we would love to see you there. If you can't make it, you should try. Why is it important? You have to show up and see. I can't tell you why on this blog; otherwise I'd have to kill you. Just kidding. But do come out March 12th. For you in the Long Beach area, we are playing the St. Maria Goretti Carnival on March 19th. Continue to visit this website and/or our Facebook/Myspace pages for further detail.

3. Lockout: Does anyone know any bands in the Hollywood area (or close to the Hollywood area) who might be looking to share a rehearsal space on Hollywood Blvd between Vine and Ivar? The room is huge and the rent is a steal. Drop us a line here or at Facebook/Myspace land if you or anyone you know is looking.

4. Recording: We are recording new songs. I believe the current count is five or six new ones, but that could grow over time. Maybe we'll even post a few MP3s here and there when its finished.

5. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner: Actually, we haven't had any adventures at sea (not yet, anyway). Nor have we had any adventures with Samuel Taylor Coleridge or Iron Maiden. But Iron Maiden rulez!!

Stay tuned for more adventures soon! --

Julie

Thats like, a mini dream come true:)

HKK is back with new blogs for January 2010!!

(Julie - wecome to HKK)

Allow Me to Introduce Myself....

Hey everyone in cyberspace! My name is Julie and I am the new bassist for Hear Kitty Kitty. It was requested that I write a blog entry for the website, so hear goes nothing. I really don't like to talk about myself that much, which makes blogging a bit awkward sometimes. I guess that's why I'm the bass player and not the lead singer or the lead guitarist "with mystique"...:) I do like to talk about music, though, so I will say that I'm happy to be playing bass in a band with three very dedicated, passionate and talented musicians in the HKK family. I've only played two shows with the band, and there are always rough patches, of course, but I've felt pretty good about it so far. It can only get better from here.
I've only been in LA since November 2009 (coming up on 3 months!) I moved here from Sacramento where I was playing bass in girl bands for a couple of years. Music is pretty much the thing that rules every aspect of my life, and I'm happy that I can devote so much time and energy to something I'm so passionate about. I think its pretty important that people have a passion for something in their lives, and I think its doubly important for them to pursue it on some level (unless your passion is clubbing baby seals. No. Get help somewhere for that. Fast.) I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm happy to have stumbled upon three musicians who uphold all of those qualities and aren't scared to "go for it", so to speak, and I'm excited to see what the future holds...Julie

( Paloma on the last show in Lakewood )

Hey!!!
We played a great show at The Regal Inn last night! It was a blast to set up early and get our hair and makeup done before the show! We definitely rocked the house and got some great feedback afterwards! Our photo shoot with Greg Garcia went fantastic as well...just can't wait to post some sexy new photos! Keep rockin'!

(Nikita on... recent shows )

We played Brixton last week n it was somewhat anticlimactic. It was our first show of the new year, and our first show with Julie, our new bassist. I was late and we didnt sound or barely line check and I went to use my shure wireless in ear system with my brand new audix mic n, well, I guess they didn't patch me into the pa. So I could hear in my ears n I guess I was in the front wedges but not in the pa. The band was turned up loud cus I could hear ....
but then when I wasn't in the pa - I panicked n ripped them out- but we didn't get levels til about the 4th song n I never really got comfortable.

Last night, we played our second show with our new bassist, Julie at The Regal Inn in Lakewood,ca.

We brought our own pa ( borrowed from the man, the myth, the legend- our website guru, Big D.)

Jonny set it all up. Danielle, Angie n Jennie (friends 4 life:) did our hair and makeup and our friend Greg Garcia (greg garcia photography) did a full blown shoot for us and we video taped our performance.
Brian Honda shot our show as well.

It went really good and we had a great time.
Sold CDs n our first few proto type new t shirt-Sold!

And we booked a headlining spot at a festival on March 19 from that show.

And we made new friends.
And we had fun together.
And we got our hair n makeup done n we looked pretty.

And my friend Greg said we sound best-
when I'm playing my Jackson guitar:)

And that made me happy.

Which is so much better than feelin like shit:)

Happy Sunday.

Have a nice February.

Speaking of February...

It's Black History Month.

And Im proud of everything we as a people have accomplished
Since Dr. Martin Luther King.

And I'm proud Obama is our President

And, Oh Yeah.
4 I 4 get~

Go Saints!

December 22nd, 2009 (Nikita)

Hola.

Dear hearkittykitty kommunity.
tis i. your fearless leader.
mz niki meow.

its nearing the end of 2009 &
here's my thought
to put 2009, behind

"we all have enough, when everybody shares"

i gave not much, but some..
money this year to
the SPCA, los angeles mission and DAV(disabled vets)

i don't have much
but i have more than someone else who has nothing.

At times, when things seem hard
and u ask yourself how u get thru a day.
think about someone who has less than u.
and give what u can.
if u can.
when u can.

anything.

example:
the other day i was feeling pretty rich, for me,
and i spent 70$ at Trader Joe's.
Then i passed a man going into my neighborhood, CVS,
and I knew he was homeless.
I'd seen him before, talked to him b4,
but I have been kinda bummed, since turkey day,
cuz I might be
moving out of my apt,
that i love,
for christmas.

my 2 roommates r not resigning the lease
and i can't afford our 3 bedroom apt. myself.

but at least i have a home
and have the ability to get another one.
and i'm grateful.

so, i got in my car and swung back around
and drove up to him.

he never asked me for anything.
i just saw in his eyes he was hungry.

and i gave him 1$ and a banana.

he thanked me and was grateful.
and i drove away
and felt better for making a dent
of a difference
in someone's day.

that small gesture didn't mean sh*t.

he was still homeless and hungry.

but i tried.

what if we all tried.
just tried a little?

what could we do as a people
if we cared enough to try?

it starts with u.

won't u please, consider donating even 2$ to a local charity
for the holidays?

whether it goes to animals, people, children, or veterans.

someone somewhere needs u this holiday season.

merry christmas. happy channukah. happy kwanza.

happy happy new year
everyone. everywhere.

2010.

lets make it great!

in the words of Mariah,

we gotta Make iT Happen!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not more than three short years ago
I was abandoned and alone
Without a penny to my name
So very young and so afraid
No proper shoes upon my feet
Sometimes I couldn't even eat
I often cried myself to sleep
But still I had to keep on going
Never knowing if I could take it
If I would make it through the night
I held on to my faith
I struggled and I prayed
And now I've found my way
Chorus:
If you believe in yourself enough
And know what you want
You're gonna make it happen
Make it happen
And if you get down on your knees at night
And pray to the Lord
He's gonna make it happen
Make it happen
I know life can be so tough
And you feel like giving up
But you must be strong
Baby just hold on
You'll never find the answers
if you throw your life away
I used to feel the way you do
Still I have to keep on going
Never knowing if I could take it
If I would make it through the night
I held on to my faith
I struggled and I prayed
And now I've finally found my way
Chorus
I once was lost
But now I'm found
I got my feet on solid ground
Thank you Lord
If you believe within your soul
Just hold on tight
And don't let go
You can make it
Make it happen
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

makin it happen. 2010.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

n its true
we'll make a better day
just u n me:)

hope whatever u do.
u make it great!

I'm in Miami Trick

Really, it's not all that exciting
Though I like to talk big game.
Every year I have an annual visit
To my dads in Broward County,
Ft. Lauderdale.
I have some other relatives and even
Some friends and if I really wanted to go out and trip the light fantastic,
I probably could.
But it's kind of unwritten law that I can
Do what ever I want for 359 days of the year, but for the 6 days I'm here,
I hang out with my dad.
So far I've been working out a lot.
Eating a lot.
And watching the 4ft iguanas on the seawall that look like they should be in the Zoo!! But they are in their natural habitat. Rad.
Right now I'm chillin pool side.
Just got out of the hot tub.
Watching the small iguanas that are everywhere out back.
I think they are called Geckos.
Like In the commercial.
It's a beautiful warm partly sunny day in ft. Lauderdale.
I have a super cute dog.
Me. My dad. My dog. And the iguanas.
Send our love from sunny Florida.
Hope to see u at our 2 shows this weekend.
Saturday- A&M presents
"women that rock"
At Juanitas in Highland Park
And Sunday, our first show in
Fullerton at the Tropics.
Come Hang Out!

We'll trip the light fantastic;)

"i'll sink with California"

tonight i saw 2012. when the randy's donut rolled by, i was like..
"dad! thats my street!!!"

lyrics to "Sink with California"

here's a shout out to my friends in Youth Brigade~

well i've been around the country and i've met a lot of kids,
some kids are smart and some kids are dumb but i don't pass judgement they're just having fun some kids get fucked up and others refrain but that's what makes the world so great
no one should be the same
the kids of the future you can see it in their eyes they must overcome nationality
if the world is to survive
and we'll sink with california when it falls into the sea
oi i'm not from england, je ne suis pas de france ich bin nicht von deutschland
and i can't dance well
i could saay california it means nothing to me.
i despise nationality shouldn't say that you're from north, south, east or west
it's humanity that is the best
yo no soy mexico, no sano de italia
that's all the languages we know
and actually we're from canada yes we love to travel,
but we love to see that california border, forever and a day
we'll sink with california when it falls into the sea
from the mountains, to the prairies from the desert to the sea
i'd say california, it means nothing to me i despise territorality
i don't care if you're from north, south, east or west
live for humanity, forget the rest. yo i'm not from new york,
i'm not from boston y'all i ain't from texas and i'm not patriotic
cause the only patriotism that we really need is to sink with the world,
with humanity and me

i'll sink with California.
me n the Randy's donut.
straight down Manchester into Playa.
Holla. All Hail Inglewood.

How I got involved with Soultone:

I first found out about Soultone right before I went to do an audition for a solo artist while attending The Musicians Institute. I was chatting it up with a fellow drummer named Daniel. He said that he worked for this company named Soultone Cymbals and is looking for more female artists who have been around a while to join the company. I took his card and gave it some thought for a while. A few weeks later I decided to give it a go! I went to their head quarters in Van Nuys and instantly fell in love with the people and the product. They heard me play and instantly hooked me up with a set of cymbals! I couldn't have picked a better company to team up with. Since then, I've been able to trade in cymbals for ones that I prefered much better, have been endorsed by their drum company DC California, have had my picture put on the front page of their website and have recorded a live video of me rockin out in their studio. I currently only have a snare drum from them and hope to one day own an entire kit!

Paloma's Newest Blog!:

Ever since I've been in this band, it's been nothing but exciting. From video shoots, to photo shoot, to some rockin live shows we seem to have it all goin' on! They've even gotten me in a mini-skirt and a provactive Halloween costume...no band has ever gone there before =) I am always looking forward to our future events, but I think the most important thing is to enjoy what's going on in the present! I feel extremely blessed to be apart of this project! Since I've been in the band, nothing but good has come out of it! We play great, sound amazing, rock hard and have a damn good time doing it!

Peace

Paloma
